
Sunday Community Outreach Ride: Building Bridges Through Connection
On Sunday, January 12, 2025, Forgotten Not Gone hosted the Sunday Community Outreach Ride, uniting veterans and supporters for a meaningful day of cycling, camaraderie, and mental wellness. With every mile pedaled, this ride underscored the transformative power of veteran peer support and outdoor recreation in combating veteran isolation and suicide.
At Forgotten Not Gone, our mission is to provide veterans with the tools and opportunities to connect, heal, and thrive. This ride exemplified that commitment, as participants came together to strengthen bonds and promote mental health through shared experiences.

- Distance: 17.78 miles
- Duration: 2.5 hours of riding and veteran peer support
- Veteran Peer Support Focus: Meaningful conversations and shared experiences over 2.5 hours strengthened community ties and reinforced the importance of connection.
Highlights From the Ride
The group set off on Valley Drive, seamlessly transitioning to the scenic Northern Beltway Trail, where wide-open views inspired reflection and dialogue. Continuing onto the Western Beltway Trail, participants experienced a blend of physical exertion and emotional support, showcasing the unique combination of fitness and healing that FNG’s events provide.
